The Problem

The global red panda population has declined by 50% in 20 years and there may be as few as 2,500 remaining in the wild Habitat Loss is the #1 Threat. Habitat loss is one of the main reasons for the red panda's home being destroyed.

Deforestation and various human activities are posing significant threats to the survival of red pandas. These charming creatures are highly dependent on the dense bamboo forests of the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China for their habitat. However, rapid deforestation driven by logging, agriculture, and infrastructure development is drastically reducing the available space for red pandas to thrive.
